The Blood Sugar Pattern Behind Anxiety and Energy Crashes

Simple Explanation (No Clinical Overload)

Your body runs on blood sugar.

 

Every time you eat, your blood sugar rises.
Your body responds by releasing insulin to bring it back down.

 

That’s normal.

 

But when your blood sugar goes:

⬆️ up quickly
⬇️ then drops quickly

 

Your body doesn’t interpret that as “just a dip.”

 

👉 It interprets it as stress.

 

So what does it do?

It releases stress hormones like:

  • cortisol
  • adrenaline

To bring your blood sugar back up.

 

Which means…

👉 The same hormones involved in anxiety
👉 are being triggered by your blood sugar swings

 

Why It Matters (Real-Life Symptoms)

This is where things start to click for a lot of women.

 

Because this pattern doesn’t just look like “blood sugar issues.”

 

It looks like:

  • Anxiety that feels random
  • Sudden irritability
  • Overwhelm out of nowhere
  • Brain fog
  • Energy crashes (especially mid-afternoon)
  • Needing sugar or caffeine to “function”
  • Feeling shaky or lightheaded
  • Trouble focusing
  • Nighttime “wired but tired” feeling
